Want to know how our award-winning beers are made? Let the beer maker give you a tour of our brewery. Tours cover the rich history of the farm and give a detailed explanation of the brewing process, with tutored tastings at the bar (of course!). Why not top it off with one of our hearty roast dinners?

Our beer maker will lead a guided tasting session to let you taste what we’ve been brewing. We also sell bottles to take away or bring back to your campsite. If one of our beers takes your fancy, why not let us draw a poly pin for you to take home.

Auld Hemp

3.8% abv

The first beer brewed at High House Farm is this fine amber coloured traditional bitter with a fresh malty aroma. It is a true session beer that delivers a highly rewarding drink. Because it is, "The Original" High House Farm beer.

Matfen Magic

4.8% abv

A brown ale, hopped with a combination of Fuggles and Brambling Cross.This traditional premium ale has a beautiful aroma of blackberries and autumn fruits, with malty and chocolate overtones.

Nels Best

Nel's Best

4.2% abv

Goldings Hops blended with the finest English malt produces this golden coloured best bitter, very pleasant to drink, not overly bitter and easy on the pallet. Serious ale drinkers will enjoy all this full bodied ale has to offer.

Our beers have won a CAMRA Regional Awards, SIBA Regional and National Awards, and a Bronze award in the Taste of North East England. Nel’s Best, our best selling ale, has been one of 8 finalists in the UK Champion Beer of Britain Awards. We’ve got golden bitters and premium brown ales that can’t be missed. The original High House beer, Auld Hemp, is a true session beer. Don’t forget to check out our seasonal, occasion, and speciality beers too.
